Responsive Web Design

Responsive web design is an approach to web design that is used to provide optimal viewing and interaction across all types of devices. It includes resizing, scrolling, and panning to create a good experience. Mobile devices have become extremely popular and in order to reach a surplus of people with your site, it is a necessity to have an easily accessible site from all devices. Media queries are elements available in CSS that can change elements of your website only under certain circumstances. Breakpoints are the definition of size that tells your website when to change to its layout most convenient for that size.

The website that I found as a good example of responsiveness is More Hazards More Heroes http://morehazards.com/ .

The desktop version of this website was very well laid out and creative. I liked the 2 columns with the one on the left staying constant even during scrolling. The right column had many pictures and a lot of written content explain about the band.

The medium version was a little bit more condensed with not much change in elements or content. The logo, titles, and pictures did not change size, but the writing got much smaller.

The very narrow style kept the size of the logo again. It lost all of the other pictures and became very limited in written content. The menu moved to on top of the logo instead of to the side, creating one column.
