Forrest Gump Saul Bass Poster

To prepare for this project we talked about the work of Saul Bass and became familiar with his style. It consists of not a ton of colors, simple edges and pictures, and it either introduces a character or tells the plot line. We then had to choose three movies or TV shows that we knew a lot about and were wiling to re-do the poster for it. I finally decided to make a poster for Forrest Gump. I've always loved this movie and I thought of an idea for the poster very quickly. I decided to introduce the main character with my poster. I used his silhouette on his most famous spot through the movie (the bench) and put his tag line as well as a box of chocolates on his lap to show what kind of person he was and what was important to him. I put the feather in the background as a subtle touch that shows something that is a small, but important piece of the movie.
