For this project we were told to pick from a surplus of screenshots of cool websites, and make our own version of that layout for an ONW website. I chose this website because it was very different than what the current ONW site is like, but it also allowed for a lot more text than some of the other options.
We made these mock ups by creating a layer in illustrator with only the screenshot on it and then applying grids to where the important eye-lines were. We then turned the view of on that layer and started in on the ONW version. Periodically I would turn the sight back on to make sure that i was staying true to the layout. We were given a lot of ONW vector graphics and other random options to help build our website. I added a picture of the Spirit Week calendar because that was the top story on the real ONW site right now. I also made sure all of the side bar info was accurate and used the top area of text to introduce ONW as a school.
