Today was a free day to explore Hilton Head and do a lot of different things on the water. Some people went waterskiing, rode wave runners, and some of us went on a dolphin tour. For that tour Frank was our captain and he brought us to a couple different spots where there am was a lot of food for the Dolphins. At one point he took us to a smaller area with lots of grass around in the water. He said this is where the food would try and hide, but the dolphins are smart enough to have figured that out. This is where we saw most of the dolphins throughout the tour. It was the first time I've ever seen one so it was a cool experience. While we were in that area, some of the guys in the youth group came by on their waterskiing boat. It was a fun perk that we got to see them, too.
We had decided that everyone would get to be on a pontoon for two hours each, and we went in three groups. The group I rode with was Ashten, Cami, Emma, Ashton, Tait, Claire, and Anna. Kyle was our driver and we drove around the water for awhile until we found a good spot to stop and swim for a little bit. At one point, Kyle started moving the boat too quickly and it started to sink in the front. The water got almost halfway up the boat until he could pull it back. It was quite terrifying in the moment, for him especially. Originally, Kyle said that I couldn't put this story on this blog, but when we found out that Joel did the same thing later, we all laughed and agreed that it was a good anecdote from the day.
We all had time to go shopping afterwards, and hit the beach for one last swim, until we left for dinner. We were recommended to eat at this pizza restaurant called Fat Baby's, so naturally that's where we went. It was really good food, and a great way to finish our time on Hilton Head Island. When we got back to the church, we had to pack our bags and clean both buildings we used. I think that's when it started to hit some of us that our time on the island was over.
