Creative Anarchy Article Review

This article, Creative Anarchy at its Very Best, was a very interesting read. Many of the points it made were very good ideas and made sense to me, but I felt that I felt that it was not written very well. It could be confusing at times and the author contradicted themselves, too.

Some of the points I liked from this article were that good design works seamlessly into its environment, that the rules of design should be thought of truths instead, and that you need to stay open and always continue learning.

Overall I felt that the article was trying to tell aspiring designers that they need to be aware of the rules of design, but its its okay to bend and break them every now and then. It repeatedly mentioned the idea that design is meant to be pushed to its limits. I liked that idea and I agree with it greatly. I think that to be a great designer you need to be able think outside the box and create something unexpected.

One last thing mentioned in the article that stuck out to me was when it talked about how the new Microsoft Windows logo is just an remake of the original. This reminded me of the google logo change recently; how it isn't a total new idea, just an evolution. Everything has already been done and all ideas already exist. Now its our job to combine them and twist them into new designs and use them in ways that they weren't before.
