Photoshop Project

We were assigned a total of four different projects. They taught us many different tools that are available to use in photoshop. I thought it was a really fun project and I want to explore photoshop even more.

SCHOOL

The first assignment we were given was to put the initials of our school and the compass style logo on a picture of the school. We were given the plain image of the school and the tools to put the type and the logo on top. By doing this project we learned how to crop and resize an image as well as add new layers, blend their edges, and use the magic eraser. The final step was learning to save the finished project in a form that we could use on this blog.

MONARCH

The goal of the second project was to recolor a monarch butterfly and to make it look like it was flapping its wings. We learned how to select a specific part of an image with the magic wand and adjust the hue to change the color of the spots on the wings. The next step was to make it look like it was flying, so we used the clone stamp tool to layer the edges of the wings.

NORTHWEST

Our third project was to make an image appear as it was inside the letters. To do this we added a new text layer and adjusted the letters to the correct size. We then were taught how to use the text mask tool to change the different pieces of the type, such as the fill. We inverted the selection so the layer affect would change the image around the letters and the fill would               become transparent. The colors for the gradient were chosen based on our school colors and the stroke around the letters were used to help the type stand out better against the background.

COLLAGE

The last project of this section was to layer a few images from around the school together. We used the magneto also to select what part of an image we wanted to copy, the layer masks to raise the transparency of an image, and the clone tool to cover parts of the picture we did not want in the final project.
